Dark Tea
A Fu brick route into dark tea
An earthy, mellow Fu brick tea from Xianyang, Shaanxi. The pressed format makes it easy to separate a portion for a pot and explore a different dark-tea tradition from Liubao or Pu-erh.
Jingwei Fu tea from Xianyang in Shaanxi brings an earthy, mellow direction in a pressed brick. It is a different regional choice from Guangxi Liubao, even though both sit within a dark-tea exploration. Preparing your cup
Mug or teapot: start with 3 g per 250 ml, 95–100°C / 203–212°F, 2–4 minutes. Gongfu: start with 4–6 g per 100–120 ml, 95–100°C / 203–212°F, 15–25 seconds for the first infusion. Pour out fully and lengthen later steeps gradually.
Keep dry tea in a cool, dry, odour-free place, protected from sunlight, heat and moisture. Close the pack after use and keep aromatic blends separate from strong-smelling foods.
Loosen and weigh a portion of the brick with care. If you are unsure about the appearance or condition of a tea you received, keep the packaging and ask us before using it; a general description of Fu tea cannot identify every visible growth.
